Variety Specialties & Amusement Co. Inc. is a full-service amusement operator offering state-of-the-art amusement equipment to hundreds of locations in Illinois. We are headquartered in Lacon, Illinois, and have warehouses in Peoria, Spring Valley, LaSalle, and Sparland.
Our company began about forty years ago in Chillicothe, Illinois, where a thirteen-year-old boy was trying to raise money for his college education to become a lawyer. He acquired several peanut and gum ball machines and rode his basket-equipped bicycle across the city to fill and service them. To fill the machines, he would make trips by train up to Chicago to purchase supplies. Eventually, as the company began to grow and flourish, he decided not to pursue the law degree and to devote himself full-time to his business, which is today one of Illinois’ largest coin-operated amusement equipment operators.
